Andrew Keaveney grew up between Memphis, Tennessee and Ireland and moved to California to attend college. After graduating from Stanford with a degree in humanities, with a focus on Buddhism and film studies, he spent four years in India, going deep into meditation and yoga practices, doing volunteer service, and editing. Upon returning to the US, Andrew helped start a retreat center in the mountains of North Carolina, while at the same time expanding his filmmaking pursuits. In addition to American Ashram’s pilot, he recently directed Breath of Hope, a short documentary about breath, death, meditation, and recovery.
